Preliminary findings - Socioeconomic Survey 2019

In September-October 2019, the Improving Forest and Protected Area Management in Trinidad and Tobago project, with the assistance of the Central Statistical Office (CSO) of Trinidad and Tobago, undertook a socioeconomic survey of communities which surround six protected areas.  This survey was the first of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago, tapping into persons' use of these areas for household and livelihood support, and also pioneered the use of new technology in survey administration for the CSO.  A presentation on preliminary findings of the survey was delivered on 10 December 2019 by a member of the Technical Backstopping Team of economists who assisted with quality control during the conduct of the survey as well as analysis and reporting.  The presentation can be found at this link.
