Communication Plan for Six Pilot Protected Areas
Within the first year of execution of the "Improving Forest and Protected Area Management in Trinidad and Tobago" project, knowledge, attitudes and practices surveys were undertaken for the six pilot protected areas in which the project was focused. The analysis of results from these surveys was undertaken by project Subcommittees to yield information on existing knowledge gaps and areas that required improved communication with people to enhance their interest and involvement in effective management of these sites. A communication strategy was developed for each area through deliberations of communication working groups, made up of a range of project stakeholders, who proposed actions and pathways based on specific target audience needs, and incorporating ideas which had been successfully introduced and used by their individual agencies and organizations. Various aspects of the Communication Plan were initiated during the project timeline. The Plan can be found at this link.
